Options and Variants "drilldown"

I have a group of products that are currently setup in kits that occupy a separate product page for each size (beds, sizes Twin through King). I want to set the product up so that it is a single product with sizes/variants but I'm running into some hurdles.

Problem: The first option is the mattress size and the second is the box spring (the box spring can have different heights, 9, 7 or 5.5 inch). Since each box spring size corresponds with it's matching mattress size, it has a different SKU, so they all need to be entered into the list, I can't just enter "9inch, 7inch, 5.5inch" as choices for the customer. As it is now, it is always displaying a huge list of all of the box springs for all mattress sizes and I have to trust that the customer is going to pick the right box spring for their mattress size choice.

Is there a way I can set this up so that once a user chooses, for example, King Mattress, it filters the choices for the second dropdown and displays only the King box springs?

In products variant manger in admin, you will see an option 'Available' for each variant. The ones that are not valid can simply be marked un-available.
