AbleCommerce, please respond - GoogleBase feed issue

Post by igavemybest » Thu Jun 25, 2009 8:50 am

Not only myself, but numerous others have complained about this same issue. It has not been fixed in 7.0.3 either which I was waiting for. The google base feed only works on 1000 of my products. It stops there. How can I fix this?? I must have asked this 5 other times in the past with no response.

Hello,

This was brought to my attention as well in the last few days. Google base will be looked into. I would like to see a solution by the end of the week but I have yet to research the technical requirements. I will post more information when I know what the scope of the problem is.
Cheers,
Logan

I am not sure this issue is the same as the others that have been reported. Can you tell me what browser you are using?

I have confirmed this issue. A tentative patch has been made available for 7.0.2 and 7.0.3, but be aware it has not passed through QA or been documented on the hotfix section yet. You are welcome to try it now to see if it solves your problem.

OK, thanks. Maybe it was a cache problem with the site I was testing it on so the new dll hadn't taken effect.

Could you check the build number of your CommerceBuilder.dll? I'm still getting that error with CommerceBuilder: 7.3.12624.0 . I'm using a custom feed I'm developing, but I get the same error on the Shopping and Yahoo feeds.

I've uploaded the latest version of the CommerceBuilder.dll patch and still can't get past 1000 products for any of the feeds. Is there something else I should be doing? I even deleted the old CommerceBuilder.dll to make sure it got overwritten.

Thanks for that info. We do have a couple of differences, but I don't know that they would affect the feed. I looked up Bug 8176 and Naveed said in the next to last post that he still had the problem.

Yeah, not sure. After I updated my commerce builder it was working for me. I am on .net 3.5, I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

I don't know, I've tried it on several sites. I just pulled the Able Feed Provider out of the source code and am changing it to work since I can't get anything in a dll to work. I forgot about the problem when I ran an upgrade on my son-in-law's site and his googlebase feed is due and I was able to do only 1000 items. I've got to get it fixed if I want to see my grandkids again. Just kidding, of course.

I think the problem I'm having might be related to permissions. I can use the same data in a local test site and can create a feed with more than 1000 products. I think the problem is that the first 1000 aren't being saved to a file so the feed creation stops and the index gets out of synch.
